The Governance Gauge: The 2016 Governance Report

--

We hope you’re enjoying your Sunday, and hope that this weekend’s Governance Gauge will get you ready for the coming week! For more reading materials, our reading list is constantly updated.

“The Governance Report” is a regularly-published work by the Berlin-based Hertie School of Governance. This work primarily focuses on the development of infrastructure project management tools. As droll as that subject may seem, it’s a highly relevant field of zone innovation — infrastructure and the supervision thereof is one of the most commonly outsourced aspects of zone creation that may not deliver the best value for creators of zones or experimental governance areas.

The work is split into 8 chapters, which comprise some 220 pages. The first half of the book focuses on the planning and execution of infrastructure projects in the abstract, whereas the second is more practical.

Creators of zones and societies will find chapters 3, 4 and 7 most intriguing as they go into the finance, execution, measurement and quality assurance of infrastructure in a governance paradigm.

Policymakers and analysts can take a look at chapters 2, 5 and 6 for interesting approaches to legislation and civil service control in the sometimes murky waters of contract procurement and construction.

Scholars and experts might appreciate chapters 1 and 8 for their excellent theoretical and SWOT examinations of current infrastructural governance models that are surely up-to-date.
