The Governance Gauge: FIAS SEZ Report
We hope you enjoy this Wednesday’s Governance Gauge: for more reading material, you can always visit our reading list for more on governance, special economic zones, best practices and studies!
This is one of the most essential reads in the zone space, brought to us by the Facility for Investment Climate Advisory Services with the World Bank group. For those who are in the innovative governance space, there are few books that can be called required reading, but this is one of them.
This work is divided into 5 chapters, and brings with it a healthy amount of potable statistics prepared by reputable sources. The sourcing and bibliography of the work may, however, be outdated.
The chapters regard, in sequence: Zone Essentials, Zone Characteristics, Zone Growth Metrics, and Lessons & Implications.
Creators of zones and societies will find this absolutely essential reading if they aren’t adept at the zone space. Much of the statistics may be irrelevant to what they’re trying to achieve, but the tools of this study are indispensable.
Policymakers and analysts should primarily focus on chapters 3 & 4, though most persons in this branch already know this work by heart, which isn’t a reason to go back to it every once in a while.
Scholars and experts can rely on the thorough and high-quality data in this work, as well as some of the more interesting statistical models. As noted above, the essential information is useful but may be outdated.
